Christmas Markets in Scandinavia to Fruit Markets in South America – Indulging Your Senses

My thoughts linger around the smell of the sweet almonds roasting, strolling along the brick laid streets, bundled in scarfs and sipping hot wine. These thoughts, wrapped around the cozy feeling of a decade ago and the presence of the ever so traditional Christmas markets

in Northern Europe. I believe this is when I fell in love with the market place, the bazaar, where I was tickled and charmed by their possession of tiny nicknacks that could be held in my hands and foods that stimulated the senses matching the vibrant surroundings.

Migrating, traveling, adapting, conversing, gathering education, reflection, and diddle daddles, adding to my journals full of observation. I learned the lingo and bargained for local prices, for treasures of all shapes and sizes.

Shuffling my feet through the markets in South America, I found the ripest mangos oozing with juices that one had to lick from their fingers and wipe off their cheeks. I examined the Guinea pigs, pierced with a stick for optimal eating.

The most lively plump men rubbing their budging half-exposed bellies while propped up against the wall like overstuffed flamingos.  I tasted the soups, local cuisine, engaged in the local behavior, practiced my spanish, and found my favorite venders with smiles and frowns, all uniquely enchanting.
